Barbara Woods Obituary

On November 26, 2018 a baby girl was born to Ethel Lee Frances and Wilford Woods Jr. in Beaumont, Texas her name was Barbara Jean Woods, (AKA  Bobbie). She grew up in Houston, Texas and attended school there.


She was united in wedlock to Willie Johnson Jr., to this union one daughter was born, Ethel Marie Johnson.


She went on to be a dedicated servant for Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witness in Baton Rouge, Louisiana alone with her mother Ethel Richardson and her sister Ruby Ferguson. Pioneering and spreading the word for 45 years in Hammond, La., Houston and Longview, Texas and remained his servant even through her sickness and until her death.


She departed this life while a patient in the Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas on December 20, 2018.


She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Johnson Jr. her mother Ethel Richardson, her father Wilford Woods Jr. her sister’s Ruby Ferguson and Beverly Bill, and one granddaughter Camille Johnson Bess.


She leaves to mourn her passing a beloved daughter Ethel Johnson-Thompson, a grandson Joshua Bess sr., 5 Great-grandsons Joshua Jr, Justice, Xavier, Quincy and Sydney Bess, 2 brother Freddie Richardson and Johnny Richardson and a host of relatives, her south Main and Alpine Congregation, nieces, nephews and friends.
