Sister Loretta (Davis) Fitts was born on February 2, 1940 to the parentage of Robert and Lorine Davis (they both precede her in death).
Sister Loretta (Davis) Fitts spent her early life in Gilmer, Texas where she attended Mount Enterprise School. In the year of 1952 she moved to Longview, Texas where she attended Womack High School. From the age of 13, she worked as a domestic cook and caretaker. She returned to school later in life and received a nursing diploma from BMI Nursing School. But due to failing health she was unable to pursue that career.
Sister Loretta (Davis) Fitts attended New Hope Baptist Church, but later united with Lake Providence Church. At the age of 13 she was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Spirit under Elder Steve D. Davis and Elder Timothy Young (both precede her in death). She remained a faithful member of Macedonia Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Diana, Texas under the leadership of Elder Robert Davis until her health began to decline. At Macedonia Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ she served and held the offices of Youth Sunday School Teacher, Usher/Usher-Vice President, Tuesday Night Mission, and Vacation Bible School Teacher.
Sister Loretta (Davis) Fitts was united in marriage to Landis Carter, Bobby Gene Fitts, and Robert Willis (they all precede her in death).
Sister Loretta (Davis) Fitts slipped away peacefully on April 2, 2019 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Also preceding her in death is one son Landis Ray Carter; one baby daughter Debra Carter; four brothers Fred, Charles, Boyce, and Dewey Davis; five sisters Lucile Jackson, Inease Davis, Thelma Davis, Nina McFarland, and Ella Espy; two grandsons Lee Charles Gray Jr., and Anthony Adams II; one great-granddaughter Shidae Venters; one son-in-law Sidney Adams; and one step-daughter Rosland Christian.
Sister Loretta (Davis) Fitts leaves to cherish, remember and miss her three sons Bobby D. (Kimberly) Fitts of Houston, Texas, Ronnie (Patrice Deneen) Fitts, and Michael (Laurie) Fitts of Hobbs, New Mexico; four daughters Carolyn Adams, Addie (Donnie) McCray, Beverly (Lee Charles) Gray, and Barbara (Irving) Fitts-Williams all of Longview, Texas; one step-son Robert (Charlene) Willis Jr. of Dallas, Texas; two step-daughters Lauretta Boson, and Doris Thomas both of Longview, Texas; 44 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, 44 great-great- grandchildren; two sisters Vernice Miles of Ore City, Texas, and Ninease Jackson of Longview, Texas; one special Nephew Wilbert Davis of Longview, Texas and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
