Alice Hayes

Ms. Alice Marie Hayes was born November 11, 1946, to Maurice and Laura Hayes.

She accepted Christ, and was baptized, at an early age. She became a member of the Rollins Addition Church of Christ. She graduated from Mary C. Womack High School, and attended Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas. Alice moved back to Longview, Texas to help take care of her father and her niece, where she also attended Kilgore College and obtained her degree. Alice gave birth to one but was a mother to many. She would help anyone in need if she was able to do so.

Alice worked various jobs before joining Longview Independent School District, where she retired. She loved cooking, dancing, spending time with family, catching up on all the Perry Mason movies, and watching Jeopardy.

Known by many and loved by all, she knew no stranger. Her delicious meals and exuberant laughter will truly be missed. Alice departed this earthly life on July 9, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maruice and Laura Jeffery Hayes; siblings, Alma J. Gonerway, Virginia Hayes, Billy Hayes Sr., and Dorthy Galloway.

She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Tyrone Hayes (Diane); four grandchildren, Darkesha Mitchell, Tyler Hayes-Blanchard (Anthony), Taylor Hayes, and Terel Hayes; three great grandchildren, Jamari Colbert, Y'neise Colbert, and Sky Hayes; one brother-in-law, Emory Gonerway Sr.; one sister-in-law, Kay Hayes; and five special nieces, whom lives she helped shape and mold, Iesha McEntire, Amber Polk, Tamesha Polk, Shundra Jones(KeKe), and Shayla Hayes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
