Arthur Walker Obituary

'A MAN by MANY NAMES'

'PUG'

Arthur Lee Walker aka Pug was born on October 1, 1928, to the parents of Alex and Texanna [Black] Walker of Ore City, TX. Pug was a name given to him by his family at an early age. Even as a young boy, Pug was a hard worker. He was the only son of five children. Pug accepted Christ at a young age at his home church Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Ore City, TX.

'ART LEE'

Later in life he met Blondell Williams of Hallsville, TX. She affectionately called him Art Lee. They were soon married and began their family in Longview, TX. Art Lee and Blond would raise all their children and live the rest of their married life in Longview, TX. During their marriage, Art Lee joined Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Longview, TX.

Art Lee worked at Stemco for 32 years until his retirement. During his years at Stemco he held several positions. He started as a groundsman and eventually ended in the muffler department. Hard work surely paid off.

'BIG DADDY'

Before retirement, Arthur Lee's family began to grow. He went from being a daddy to a Big Daddy. He made sure that his grandchildren knew about gardening, picking peas, fishing, checking oil in the car, riding a bike and playing spades.

As Big Daddy aged, he decided to join Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church due to distance. He was happy to serve the Lord and wanted to make sure all of his children knew about the love of Christ. Not only was he a hard worker but he was a Godly Man!
