Mr. Billy Gene Lott, born on February 21, 1935, in Kilgore, Texas in the Pentecost Community, to the parents of William Gene Lott and Coriene Smith, was a beloved father, brother, cousin, and friend. Billy’s legacy lives on through the memories of his family and friends, as he was known for his loving heart, cheerful spirit, and kindness.
Billy grew up in the care of his loving parents, with whom he shared a special bond, and he was blessed to have four children. He attended C.B. Dansby school and became a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Throughout his life, Billy had a passion for cooking, particularly his famous sweet potato pies, which brought joy to those lucky enough to share them. His warmth and infectious smile were a ray of light to everyone he encountered.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, William Gene Lott and Coriene Smith; his sister, Joanna Lott; his brothers, George Lott and Lee Douglas Lott; his grandmother, Emma Sue Smith; his grandfather, Grover Smith; and his favorite aunt, Dorothy Ann Adams. He was also preceded by Mae Pearl McEntire, Audrey Kelly, Annie Lois Colbert, and Bessie Lee Mitchell, all of whom were dear to him.
Billy leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished by numerous cousins, extended family, and friends. Though he is no longer with us, his presence will remain in our hearts.
