Bobby Harold Hicks, was born on October 6, 1938, to Odis and Johnnie Boatman Hicks, in Beckville, Texas. Surrounded by his loving family, he transitioned to eternity on September 4, 2022, in Kilgore, Texas.
Bobby received his primary education from Beckville Schools. Bobby attended Bethel CME Church at an early age.
Affectionately regarded as "Honey" and "Sweetheart", by his loving wife, and "Mr. Hicks" by his friends, Bobby relocated to Dallas, Texas where he met and married the love of his life, Betty Sue Pettegrue. The two remained in holy matrimony until his transition.
After marriage with much determination, Bobby entered into entrepreneurship excelling his business mind. He enjoyed lavish lifestyles from stylish attire to Cadillac cars. He worked until his health begin to deteriorate.
Among many hobbies, Bobby enjoyed playing dominoes, traveling, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with his family. He will be fondly remembered for his dependable, hardworking, and quiet nature. His loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Johnnie Boatman Hicks; son, Windollin Charles Hicks; siblings, Ivory Hicks, Huey Hicks, Ruth Hicks, Lillie Mae Bell, Alene Hicks, and Grace Atterberry.
Those left to cherish precious memories include his loving wife of 59 years, Betty Sue Hicks; daughter, Priscilla Brooks; brothers, James Hicks (Helen), Lindell Hicks (BreAnna), and Earl Hicks; sisters-in-law, Mary Rose Hicks, Joe Hicks, and Brenda Hicks; grandchildren - Simone Thomas, Windolyn Hall (April), Whitney Luckey, Charles Luckey, Romeo Brooks, and James Brooks; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
