Bobie Johnson Obituary

Mr. Bobie Lugen Johnson, was born on September 30, 1946 in Spur, Texas, to the late Henry and Lena Mae (Abron) Johnson.

He united with the Pine Grove Baptist Church at a very young age. Bobie’s heart overflowed with kindness, and he lived out his faith in the way he treated others—with compassion, warmth, and a joyful spirit.

Bobie graduated with the class of 1964 from Frederick Douglas High School. He dedicated many years and retired from Lone Star Steel Company.

Bobie had much love for his family. He was a loving father to four beautiful children. Bobie loved the great outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching the infamous Dallas Cowboys. Bobie will be remembered for his wise but straight-forward demeanor, his generous heart, and the way he could entertain you for hours with his jokes. He loved to laugh, and his spirit brought joy to all who knew him.

On January 18, 2025, Bobie Lugen Johnson transitioned from time to eternity. He is now joyfully reunited in Heaven with his parents; five siblings, Mable, Delia Mae, James, Rommie Lee, and Tracy; and a devoted partner, Brenda Chisom.

Left to honor his legacy are his children, Brendesha Johnson of Lone Star, Texas, Bobby (Jeanie) Johnson of Allenhurst, Georgia, Byron Johnson of Hughes Springs, Texas, and Sharonda Jenkins of Diana, Texas, along with 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Among those left to share a lifetime of memories are two brothers: Jerry (Gladys) Johnson, Sr., of Tyler, Texas, and Travis Johnson of Ore City, Texas; two sisters: Lena Mitchell of San Antonio, Texas, and Vernice Anderson of Longview, Texas; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
