Bridgette Rene' Hamilton

       On April 11, 1978, Purvis Sr. and Betty Milner welcomed their baby girl Bridgette Rene’.  She would be the sister to her big brother Purvis Jr., and would grow into a young woman in their home in Shreveport, Louisiana.

      Bridgette would attend and graduate from Captain Shreve High School where she achieved academic excellence, as well as showed her true “Gator Pride” as a cheerleader. Upon graduating from high school, she attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and graduated with a Bachelors of Science with a concentration in Health Information Management. There she became a member of her beloved Delta Sigma Theta.

      Bridgette accepted Christ into her life at the early age of seven. She was baptized, and attended Galilee Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend E. Edward Jones Sr. Bridgette always kept the word of the Lord close to her heart, and carried herself as a Proverbs 31 woman. Her worth was far above rubies. She was faithful to the Lord until he called her home.

     When Bridgette met her husband Jason Hamilton during their teenage years, it was love at first sight. The two were inseparable, and soon became man and wife on July 12, 2003. They enjoyed a union to be admired and emulated for 14 years.  From this union they became the parents of four exceptional children:  Jaylin Jawon, Jordan Janea’, Jaleigh Janiyah, and Jaxon Jeremiah. Brigette spent much of her time nurturing her children and encouraging them to be the best in all their endeavors. Her family was her pride and joy, and her love for them was boundless.

      Bridgette enjoyed a productive career in the health care industry, as a Health and Wellness Coach. She was a business owner, author, and holistic health care advocate. She never got tired of researching and implementing new and exciting ways to aid others in their health awareness and over-all well-being.

      After waging war with brain cancer, the Lord gave Bridgette her halo on April 27th, 2018.

      She will be cherished in the hearts of many, and leaves her devoted husband Jason; children Jaylin (20), Jordan (17), Jaleigh(13), and Jaxon(8); her loving brother Purvis Milner Jr. (Janet), and father Purvis Milner Sr. In addition, she is survived by a host of dear family and friends.
