THE REFLECTIONS OF LIFE
Bryant Wayne Rowlett was born September 2, 1964 to Lonnie & Willie Kay Rowlett Sr. in Longview, Texas.
At an early age, Wayne confessed his faith in Christ when he joined the Willow Springs Baptist Church and was baptized. He was active in many church activities such as the choir ministry and the usher board.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Rowlett Sr., two brothers, Leonard Rowlett and Lonnie Rowlett Jr., and his baby sister, Devita Regina Rowlett-Allen.
He was educated in Pine Tree ISD and a graduate of Pine Tree High School, Class of 1983. He was an awesome defensive lineman on Pine Tree’s football team. While there, he was selected two years to the TIAA All Conference 1st Team, elected into the Pine Tree Hall of Fame (high school). He also received awards in high school art contests & UIL Texas Foreign Language Symposium. He then received an academic scholarship to Austin College where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts. Wayne was a four season member of the Austin College football team. He also completed Continuing Education computer classes at Brookhaven College.
Wayne was employed by State Farm Insurance for 18 years in the Dallas, Texas area as an Auto Claims Adjuster. He also worked locally at Community Healthcore for a few years.
He was a quiet and gentle giant who loved his nieces & nephews and his forever cousin-best friend, Vennis Gray. Wayne was a collector of dinosaurs, an avid reader and a patron of Longview library because he was too frugal to buy a book or computer. He was an awesome artist and had a melodic voice.
Wayne is peacefully resting now, but leaves behind traces of his love and strength for his mother, Willie Kay Thomas; nephews, Jaylon Allen and Kaylon Allen; nieces, Jasmine Rowlett and Ja’Kayla Rowlett; sister-in-law, Carla Rowlett; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
