Clifford Holman

Mr. Clifford Holman was born on March 17, 1935, in Rusk County to Hubert Holman and Delia Harris Holman.  God blessed this couple with a precious son whom they chose to name “Clifford”.  He grew up and attended school in the Laneville Community. 

Several years later Clifford moved to Jacksonville, Texas and met his lifelong love, Mary Lou Ross.  On June 19, 1955, they became one union of 69 years, until God called his child home. This union was blessed with seven beautiful children.

Mr. Holman worked at Sadler's Restaurant for 22 years.   Later he became employed by Jacksonville ISD for several years and retired from Nan Travis Hospital as a custodian. He was a member of Seminary Heights Church of Christ where he worshiped every Sunday.  Mr. Holman served as a deacon in his church and worked faithfully maintaining the upkeep of the building and ensuring communion was prepared for Sunday service.  Mr. Holman fulfilled his Christian duty until his death.

Clifford found much joy in:fishing, working on cars, barbecuing, and videoing his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son-in law, Roy McClelland.

Memories of Clifford will be kept by his loving wife,  Mary Holman; daughters, Brenda (Larry) Roberts, Belinda McClelland all of Jacksonville, Texas, Teresa (Charlie) Harris of Broussard, Louisiana, Delecia (Gary)  Patton of Glenn Heights, Texas, Genelle (Kerry) Canada of Dallas, Texas,  and Veronica (Billy) Whitfield of Irving, Texas; a.son, Clifford Jr (Michella) Holman of Terrell, Texas; Eighteen grandchildren;  Forty-five great grandchildren; One great great grandchild; and a host of other dear relatives and friends.
