Curtis Ray Smith

Curtis Ray Smith, was born to the late Clay Smith and Mabel Smith on January 23,1956, in Jefferson, Texas. He departed this life on October 29,2020 at Longview Regional Hospital in Longview, Texas.

Curtis joined Berean Baptist Church at an early age. He graduated from Jefferson Central High School and later graduated from Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas, where he received his Bachelor Degree. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Clay Smith and Mabel Smith; and his sister, Sylvia L. Smith-Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Mattie Smith; daughters Chloe Smith, Brittany (Anthony) Eldridge, Chasity Smith all of Arlington, Texas; sons, Ray of Frisco, Tx, and Marcus Alexander of Beaumont, Tx.; stepsons, Jaden Bolton, Jonathan Bolton both of Rowlett, Tx, and Deon’tee Bolton of Dallas, Tx; grandchildren, Maliyah and Jordon; brothers, Clay Smith Jr. of Marshall, Tx, Alphonso (Elva) Smith of Jefferson Tx, Terry Smith of Longview, Tx, Brian (Nanette) Smith of Longview, Tx, and Derrick (Freda) Smith of Jefferson, Tx.;  sister, Clarice Smith of Dallas, Tx.; brothers in laws, Gary (Gloria) Elder of Big Sandy, Tx, Jerry Elder of Hawkins, Tx, Dwight (Jewel) Smith of Tyler, Tx, and Clinton (Crystal) Smith of Dallas, Tx.; sisters in laws, Connie Grove of Forth Worth, Tx, and Pearl (Leonard) Lee of Longview, Tx, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers including a special friend Leamond Willis
