REMEMBERING DARIUS
On July 23, 2024 Darius James Jackson, 34, passed peacefully and suddenly in his home in
Tyler, Texas. He was born in Washington, DC to young parents on December 17, 1989 and later
adopted by Willie and Judy Jackson. He spent his younger years in Prince George, Virginia
where he made lifelong friends. He played recreational T-ball, enjoyed swimming, sketching
anime characters and gaming. He was a cub scout in his local troop and enjoyed attending
events and completing badges.
Darius had a love for pepperoni pizza and anime cartoons that continued into adulthood. He enjoyed
sketching characters like Dragon Ball Z and creating music. His attendance at church youth
camps provided him with fond memories and lifelong friends. He spent time at L.L. Beazley
Elementary School, J. J. Clements Junior High School and Prince George High School before
moving to Texas to attend his final years of high school in Whitehouse, Texas.
Darius Jackson was a dedicated member of South Hopewell Church of God in Hopewell,
Virginia for 18 years where he was baptized and committed to the Lord for much of his youth.
He continued his walk attending New Life Worship Center and Azaela Gardens Church of God
in Tyler, Texas.
Around the age of 24, Darius began his battle with Lupus but he remained courageous through
it all as his body grew weary. He lived life loud and unapologetically until he took his final rest on
July 23, 2024. He was on the recipient donor list to receive a new heart and kidney but God had
other plans. In his death, he became an organ and tissue donor to give continued life to others
in need. His bright smile and endless stories will continue to live on in our hearts where he will
be forever young.
In Lieu of flowers; donations can be sent to the Lupus Foundation of America Inc.-Lonestar
Chapter 2121 K Street NW, Suite 200 Washington, DC 20037 and the National Kidney
