Devoria Ann (Williams) Johnson

Mrs. Devoria Ann Johnson was born to the late James and Sally Williams, on July 21, 1963 in Longview, Texas. Raised in a Christian home, she accepted Christ at an early age and carried those beliefs with her until her passing. She had a genuine relationship with Christ and took her Christian journey very serious. She received her education in Longview Independent School District, where she was a part of the ROTC while in High School.

On December 7, 2008 she married Calvin Johnson. They didn't have any children, but they had a special parenting relationship with her nephew Carl Williams Jr. Devoria's home church was St. Paul Baptist Church, until she moved her membership to Bread of Life Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Joe Pryor. With the direction and guidance of God she later united with Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Supt. Jesse Nelson . 

Devoria, worked as a housekeeper in local nursing homes where she loved and enjoyed doing it. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with her family. There was no question about her love for her family.  Unfortunately, her health began to decline and she became unable to attend church regularly as she desired to do so. Devoria was the type of Christian, that although she didn't attend church anymore, she stayed in her word and stayed in touch with God through prayer. She was the epitome of a virtuous woman, according to Proverbs 31:25-29. Her smile was vivacious, she was strong, wise, kind, made sure her family was taken care of, and didn't meet a stranger. She left a lasting impression on all those she came in contact with.  
On February 4, 2022 God saw fit to call her from suffering to peace and joy. In agreement with Apostle Paul, we don't sorrow like those that have no hope. Us that are saved don't have anything to worry about; we will see her again. 

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by both parents. 

Cherishing her memories are her husband, Mr. Calvin Johnson; siblings, Lula (Curtis) Johnson, Louise Johnson, Annie Crain, Shirley Abraham, Arma Williams, Kathy Williams, James (Kitty) Williams, Thomas (Gina) Willams, Charles Williams Sr., Lonzell Williams, and Carl Williams Sr., and host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
