Doris Marie Horton was born on December 8, 1952, to the proud parents James and Mary Conway in Center, Texas. She grew up in a large, beautiful family with four sisters and five brothers in Longview, Texas. She graduated from Longview High School.
Affectionately known as "Tiny" to many, and "Aunt Tiny" to others, she was one of the sweetest, most loving, and caring people you could ever meet. If you were hungry, she would feed you; if you needed a place to stay, she would offer you a bed and a hot meal. She had the biggest smile and loved every person she met—she never met a stranger. She loved to shop and care for others, and she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She was a true giver; if she had it, so did you. Her heart was enormous.
She later met and married Kenneth Earl Horton, and to this union, one son, Benjamin Earl Horton, was born.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Conway; sisters Katie Conway, Minnie Ola Rhodes, Minnie Webb, and Mary Frances Williams; and brothers Joe Lewis Conway, Joe Neal Conway, and J. Rodgers Conway.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Benjamin Earl Horton (Nadia); one grandchild, Alicen Katie Marie Horton; Sha’Niyah and Paul; brothers John Conway (Cheryl) and Timothy Conway; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Above all, she will be remembered for her unwavering support, infectious smile, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved.
