Edison Franklin Sr., was born on October 10, 1943, to Ollie and Sudie Alexander Franklin. He was a beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Edison graduated from Mary C. Womack High School and went on to serve his country with honor. He was drafted into the military in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1969.
In 1984, Edison married Orene Brown, and together they raised their son, Edison Franklin Jr. He was a loving father and a devoted husband, always finding joy in the simple moments shared with his family.
Edison was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Sudie Alexander Franklin; as well as his three brothers, Cecil Bookings, Ollie Lee Jr., and Jeff; and his sisters, Irma Alexander and Mary Sue Wilkins. He is survived by his wife, Orene Franklin; their son, Edison Franklin Jr.; and his remaining sister, Vera Nelson of Longview; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Edison’s legacy of service, love, and devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will be cherished forever.
