"The Life of Geofrey"
Geofrey Lynn Poole transitioned to Heaven on August 19, 2024, at the age of 64 in Longview, Texas. He was the oldest of four children, born to Virginia Poole Hart and Jeff London on March 22, 1960, in Kansas City, Kansas.
Geofrey came to know Christ at an early age and was a member of Wesley Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
He began his primary education in Haughton, Louisiana. Geofrey, along with his cousin Debra, were the first black people to integrate Platt Elementary in 1967-1968. While attending Princeton Junior High, Geofrey's 8th grade team, "The Princeton Pirates", were 7-0 in 1974. His team went on to win the Northwest Junior High School League Football Championship. After moving to Texas, he became a "Mighty Lobo" and graduated from Longview High School. Geofrey was an exceptional athlete in football and track. He broke many records that are still maintained until this very day.
Geofrey married Loretta A. Williams and to this union, a beautiful baby girl was born. He was truly a devoted and loving father, grandfather, and a well-known friend to many.
Among several hobbies, Geofrey enjoyed baking, grilling, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with his family.
Geofrey was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Karl Poole; grandmother, Oleavia Brown; and grandfather, Joseph Poole.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Loretta Poole; daughter, Crystal Lane (James); grand-daughter, Chloe Lane; seven sisters, Karolyn Hubbard (Darius), Denise Poole, Jennifer Poole, Latonya London, Crystal Gregory Spratt, Margurita Thomas, and Sherry Moore; five aunts, one uncle, three nieces, three nephews, two great-nieces, seven great-nephews, a special friend, Shirley Bajoie; and many other relatives and dear friends.
