Gwenda 'Joyce' Miller, who had a sweet spirit and giving heart, was born, October 15, 1964, and raised in Easton, Texas to a loving mother Mirtha Steverson.

She attended Longview ISD and graduated from Longview High School in 1983. For many years she worked as a dietitian, until her health failed. Joyce met the love of her life and partner, Earnest Ford, in 2005; they were together until his death in 2021.

Gwenda was called home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mirtha Steverson; brother, Kevin Steverson; and grandson, Brandon Steverson Jr.

Joyce was a loving mother and friend, she leaves to cherish her memories three children, Brandon (Shanetra) Steverson, Shenequa (Denzix) Brown, and Brittany (Ryse) Richardson, all of Longview, Texas; twelve grandchildren, that she loved dearly, Dashawana Steverson, Jaheim Coby, Brandavion Steverson, Elijah Hicks, Dorriana Steverson, Dmyiah Brown, Jakeeliah Lister, Shontel Brown, Yuri Lister, Denzix Brown Jr., and Jameshia Bible; brothers and sisters, Johnny (Betty) Shaw, Audrey Steverson, Undrea Steverson, Januetta Hawkins, Cedric Steverson and Otto (Vanessa) Steverson; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and two special friends, Tanya Jones and Barbara Wilson.
