Jo Ann (Butcher) Johnson

Jo Ann Butcher Johnson, lovingly known to many as the heart and soul of her family, passed away on May 3, 2026, in Longview, Texas, at the age of 79. She was born on November 16, 1946, in Beckville, Texas to Hody and Dorothy Lee, who preceded her in death.

Jo Ann was a devoted, faith driven woman whose life was defined by love, strength, and selflessness. She was the glue that held her family together, a caretaker in the truest sense, always putting others before herself. Her family knew her as a woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and unwavering compassion.

She was deeply loved not only by her family but by friends, extended family, and anyone fortunate enough to know her. To many, she was Mom. Her home and heart were always open, and her presence brought comfort and stability to everyone around her.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her son Daniel and grandson Nicholas. She is survived by her children, Timothy, Dennis, Gregory, Harold, and Carol; her grandchildren, Kaleb, Colton, Ashley, Hannah, Starla, Savanna, David, Robert, Daniel, and Sylvia.

Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
