Joan (Williams) Smith

Joan Williams Smith, was born to the late Rev. Jobie Williams Sr. and Corrie Williams on October 25, 1942. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, November 17, 2022.

She received Christ at an early age, under the leadership of her father, Rev. Williams. She was a faithful member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church, for many years, where she actively participated in the church choir. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Smith; parents, four brothers, and four sisters.

Joan received her elementary and high school education from Galilee in Hallsville, Texas; she was her high school’s class Valedictorian. She later continued her education at TSTC.

Joan leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Kathleen Williams and Cheryl (Michael) Sweet; son, Ronald (Sabrina) Crosby; sister, Essie Russell; grandsons, Damon, Cedric, and Kenan Crosby; granddaughters, Celeste (Jeremy), Chrystal, Kandyce (Keyanta), Sierra, MiCall and Mi’Oshi; twenty-two great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.
