Obituary 

Ms. JoAnn Logan,70, of Houston, TX passed away September 30, 2025. Born in Providence, RI to the late Charles E. Hawkins of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Olive E. Logan of Providence, Rhode Island. She was the third eldest of nine children. JoAnn was known for her quick wit, her generous heart, and her love for the arts and travel. 

She received her early education in Providence, Rhode Island, and continued her studies at the Community College of Rhode Island in Warwick, Richland College, and Houston Community College in Texas. Throughout her life, JoAnn dedicated herself to serving others. She worked in rehabilitation at Baylor, served as a bus monitor for the Providence Public School District, and later contributed to the Parents Making a Difference program at Hope High School. 

JoAnn’s life was full of laughter, compassion, and faith. Her legacy of love and strength will live on through her family and friends. She proudly served as the matriarch of her family. 

She leaves to cherish her memory: Her loving daughter, Kandra Logan; devoted son, Quentin Logan-Johnson; and cherished grandchildren, Terry O. Houzah Jr., Keilan Logan, Kynadi Logan-Pegues, and King Logan-Foster. 

She is also survived by her beloved siblings: Denise Bateman, Colleen Gilliam (Michael), Regina Jones of Texas; Terry Allen, Dorothy Logan-Hall of Providence, RI; Judy Keelean (John) of LeRoy, MI; and Charles “Mikee” Logan (Elvira) of Lincoln, RI. 

JoAnn was predeceased in death by her sister Beatrice Logan and cousin Linda Logan.

JoAnn’s memory will forever be held in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews as well as a host of grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, and extended family.
