Every story has a beginning, and every story is a tale that has to be told… This is MY story.
My name is Minister Joshua Stephen Anderson. I was born September 6, 1989 in Longview, Texas; to the greatest parents a boy could ask for, Rev. Herman J. “Butch” Anderson and Evelyn “Jeanett” Williams Anderson.
I attended Marshall High School and was a graduate with the class of 2008. I furthered my education at Kilgore College, in Kilgore, Texas, to study music. Later, I attended Wade College in Dallas, Texas, to study fashion.
Being raised in a Christian home, I confessed Christ as my Lord and Savior, at an early age. I was baptized at Mt. Zion Spiritual, in Marshall, Texas, by Pastor Cedell Mitchell. I was raised in church and pastored by my father, Butch, until 18. God anointed my hands to play the instruments and God blessed me to play for a host of churches. God wasn’t done with me yet. He also called me to minister his word to those who diligently loved Him and to those who needed to get to know Him. Because the call on my life was so strong, I accepted my call to Minister. I delivered my 1st sermon on November 25, 2012, under the leadership of Pastor Charles Faulks.
Not only did God anoint my hands to play, He anointed them to create. I always had a sense of fashion, but God knew there was more in store for me. I never would’ve thought my small thought, would one day turn into a dream come true. I begin making bow ties and before I knew it, I was making outfits for models to wear on the runway in New York.
On June 21, 2012, I fell in love and married Shernea Broughton and later had our first and only bundle of joy, Ryiah Elise Anderson, on March 27, 2013. Years later we divorced, but remained best friends, co-parenting Ryiah. Through all of my life’s challenges and circumstances of hardship, my daughter, Ryiah, has been my biggest motivation. All I did was for her so that my legacy would live on through her.
Every story must one day come to a close, not an end, but a close to one day be told again.
On Thursday, March 24, 2022, I entered my eternal home. I now have a home in Glory, where I am now making robes in preparation for my family and friends to meet me here. Upon my arrival here, I was reunited with my grandparents, Reverend David and Evangelist Grace Williams, Sherman and Mae Nell Anderson, and Willie Mae Williams.
Although my journey on earth is over, I have left many memories to be shared by those who love me the most and are patiently awaiting my resurrection like my parents, Rev. Herman “Butch” Anderson and Evelyn “Jeanett” Williams Anderson of Tyler, Texas; my pride and joy, my daughter, Ryiah Elise Anderson of Lindale, Texas; brother, Jeremiah Anderson of Arlington, Texas; sister, Anna Marie (Kyundre) Anderson Carter of Gladewater, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends
