Kajuana Lashunn Borens King was born on December 22, 1982, to the late Benny Fred Borens and Barbara Ann Borens.
Kajuana attended Gilmer Independent School District, where she graduated from Gilmer High School (Class of 2002). She was an exceptional track star, breaking many school records. Kooki loved being surrounded by family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Brooklyn, aka Brook.
Kajuana was baptized at an early age at her home church, East Springfield MBC, under the leadership of the late Pastor Springs. However, most recently, she was baptized on September 22, 2024, at Parkview Baptist Church, where she became a member under the leadership of Pastor LaDarian D. Brown.
Kooki leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Carl King; beloved son, Carl Benny Lee King; granddaughter, Brooklyn Nelson; sister, Shanequa L. Borens and Amie K. Skinner; nieces, Emari Fluellen (Johnalin), Aallayah and Aalliyah Moore, Zaniyah Skinner; nephews, Christopher Ford, Zayden Skinner; great-nephew, Sa'Marioun Ford; aunts, Brenda Curley (Donald), Alice Blacklock (Byron), Wanda Writt, Patricia Moss, Debbie Moss, Helen Stephens, Evie Borens, and Merilyn Ray; special aunt, Valerie Lewis; uncles, Robert (Bridget) Borens, James (Sonia) Borens, Anthony (Sally) Borens, and Jesse Henry; special cousins, Tori Borens and Nicole Crowe; godson, Christopher Pinkney, Jr.; best friend, Erica Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends.
