Lee Morris (Lamar) Bell

January 4, 1957 ~ July 1, 2023 (age 66) 66 Years Old

Obituary

Mr. Lee Morris (Lamar) Bell, was born January 4, 1957, in Jacksonville, Texas to the parentage of Elton and Jerlean Tilley Bell, and was the oldest of six children. In 1978, he was joined in holy matrimony to Sherri Essex Bell, of Jacksonville, Texas. To their union, one son was born, Tavion Bell. He later had another son, Marquice Tremon Bell.

He attended Jacksonville High School, and worked for Staton Lumber Company and Brown Pallet Company, later working in the logging business with his father. He shared a special bond with his
paternal grandparents, Mr. O.C. & Mrs. Lillie Bell, of Jacksonville, Texas, both of which preceded him in death. He attended welding school, and left Jacksonville in 1985, to work in multiple oil refineries in Baytown, Texas. When his health began to fail, he returned to Jacksonville, where he remained until death.

In 2018, after having cervical spine surgery, he suffered a stroke, which impacted the mobility of his left side. Always the optimist, and never the pessimist, he refused to be immobile, and secured a top-of- the-line wheelchair, which was appropriately dubbed “his Mercedes”! He l-i-t-e-r-a-l-l-y rode around Legacy at Jacksonville, like he owned it! He had a fun-loving and humorous spirit, which allowed him to easily make friends, leaving an indelible imprint on all who encountered him!

Lee Morris was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Elton Bell; and sister, Faye Jewel Bell. His memory will be cherished forever by his loving and devoted mother, Ms. Jerlean Bell of Jacksonville, Texas; sisters, Yonanda Clayborne Bradford of Jacksonville, Texas, Jerrilynn Adams (Vincent) of Fort Worth, TX, brothers, Elbert Bell (Susan) of Flower Mound, Texas, Alvin Bell of Carrollton, Texas; sons , Tavion Bell (Nikki) of Tyler, Texas and Marquice Bell of Houston, Texas; grandson, Tavion Bell Jr. of Tyler, Texas; granddaughter, Alexia Renae Bell of Tyler, Texas; one great-grandson, Christian Cole Deaton of Tyler, Texas; nephews, Torrian Patterson of Irving, Texas, Brett Bell of Austin, Texas, Samuel Wayne Baker II (Jasmine) of Jacksonville, Texas, Samuel Wayne Baker III (“Three”) of Jacksonville, Texas, Samodrian Baker of Jacksonville, Texas, Devadrian Jackson of Jacksonville, Texas, Cameron Singleton of Tyler, Texas, Gerald Singleton III of Tyler, Texas, Zion Hardy of Tyler, Texas, and Ka’Den Buckingham of Jacksonville, Texas; nieces, D’onnettra Baker (Wayne) of Jacksonville, Texas, Ro’Chaftney Bush of Jacksonville, Texas, Brianna Hardy (Jamal) of Tyler, Texas, Dr. Sametria (Pooh) Baker of Houston, Texas, Sa’Myia Baker of Jacksonville, Texas, and Laila Baker of Jacksonville, Texas.
