Mother Ollie Mae Austin Colbert Obituary

Mother Ollie Mae Austin Colbert was born February 26, 1946 to Ollie Ray Tolbert Austin and P.D. Austin, Sr. in Terrell, Texas. She attended North Chapel School then was married to Welton Colbert on July 20, 1962. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage together.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, loyal sister, and friend, Ollie was a God fearing, kind hearted, generous, and benevolent, with a take care of everyone else attitude. She never met a stranger that didn’t somehow become a friend. Ollie was a high spirited, business, savvy, fiery little woman that knew how to take control and get things done. She was also known for her cooking. No one was ever tuned away, and there was always enough to share.

Ollie was an entrepreneur that always went after what she wanted. She was tough and sympathetic but straight forward whatever the situation called for but in the end was caring and compassionate.

Ollie was the person you always wanted on your side. She was very supportive and never wavered in her love and trust. God was the head and center of her life. She was a member of County Line Church of the Living God for 30 plus years. She lived her faith and religion. She loved to sing in the choir where she was choir president for many years. She earnestly lived the church creed. She was always ready and willing to work where she was needed most and honestly tried to do her part. She was truly one of God’s best creations.

She was preceded in death by her husband Welton Colbert, Sons: Patrick Colbert and Tyrone Colbert, Brothers: Lewis Austin and Allen Austin, and grandson Deke Scott.

She is survived by her daughter Angie Colbert; Grandsons: Jordan Jackson, Jacobie Vidal and future daughter-in-law Ciarra Woodside, Son: Patrick Colbert, Jr., Son: Joe Colbert and daughter-in-law Pam Colbert, Grandsons: Joe Colbert, Jr. and Joseph Colbert and daughter-in-law Ashley Colbert, Granddaughters: Chasity Alexander, Shunteria Wilson, Jamicia Colbert, Diamond Wilson, Great Grandchildren: Patrick Colbert, III, Royal Richardson, Austin Alexander, Amari Alexander, Lyla Alexander, Layla Alexander, Bianca Chaney, Riley Hunt, Dekelyn Scott, Jakobe Colbert, Mattie Lynn Colbert,  Sister: Louise Wallace, Brother: P.D.
