Mr. Russell Hill, affectionately knowns as "Head Russ", "Beaver", and "Colonel" was born August 13, 1959 to the late Freddie Anthony, and Joyce Matlock. On April 19, 2020, he heard the master's call, and made his transition to his eternal home. Russell was preceded in death by his paternal, and maternal grandparents; and an uncle.
After graduating from Texas High School in 1977, Russell enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. After giving dedicated service to our country, Russell received an honorable discharge, and returned to Texarkana where he found employment with Red River Army Depot. Known for being the "Life of the party", Russell could be found surrounded by his family, and friends wearing the biggest smile ever. He had both the kindest heart, and the sweetest spirit, two of the many attributes that will be sorely missed.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Tanisha Hill, Shauntell (Maurice) Harris, Marcus (Kimberly) Fields, Ruszel Traylor, and Joel Hill; his siblings, Carolene Brown, Curtis (Laura) Wilson, David Elroy (Carolyn) Wilson, Jeffery (LaBretha) Hill, Clara Hill-Potter, Arthur (Teri) Hill, Kimberly (Michael) Hinton, Malisa (Michael) Curry, Kevin Wilson, Daphanie Hendrix, Anita Anthony, Waymon Anthony, LaShay Neal, Cecilia Anthony, Juvard and Juvonn Anthony, Trina Anthony, Franshell Loudermilk; 8 grandchildren; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, a special friend Shirley Carrigan, and the entire Newtown Community.
*The family will host a memorial service at a later date due to current pandemic, and CDC guidelines.
