Elaine “Mrs. A” Williams Alexander was born to the late George Williams, and Ruba J. Williams at Flint-Goodridge Hospital on July 22nd, 1952 in the great city of New Orleans, Louisiana. At an early age she accepted Christ into her life, and was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended New Orleans public schools, and graduated from Walter L. Cohen in the year of 1971. Her time in New Orleans was very memorable to her, and she shared stories with many of how she loved her city, “Tha N.O.”.
In the early eighties, Elaine moved to Longview, Texas and started another chapter in her life. Elaine met Kindell Alexander, and the two instantly formed a bond that was thick as thieves. The two had their one and only child, Kindie Alexander. Her most precious jewel in life is her daughter, and as her only child they held a special bond.
Mrs. Alexander worked at various schools/facilities in the community of Longview, Texas with children ranging from newborn to early adolescence. Her heart was most recently dedicated to nourishing the children at Bramlette Elementary for the past thirteen years. Inspiring children was her passion.
Preceding Mrs. Alexander in death are her parents, George and Ruba J. Williams, and her sister, Shelia Williams.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory: one daughter, Kindie Gilstrap (Derrian Sr.) of Longview, Texas. Mrs. Alexander was fortunate to have one grandson whom she adored greatly, Derrian “B.J.” Gilstrap Jr. of Longview, Texas; her long-time friend and former husband, Kindell Alexander, of Longview, Texas, and two special friends, Linda Mason and Pamela Smith of New Orleans, Louisiana, along with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”
