Reginald Johnson-Alex Obituary

Reginald Deneal Johnson-Alex, was born December 29,1983, in Longview, Texas, to Sammy Dale Alex and Aretha Johnson. He is preceded in death by his brother; Courtney Johnson; uncles, Arthur Franklin and Kevin Alex; and grandparents; Luella and Sammy D. Alex.


Reginald attended Longview Independent School District and was a proud Lobo alumni. He was employed by Well-Pro Services, in White Oak, Texas, the oilfield was his life; he followed the career path of his daddy. When he wasn’t working, he could be found fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and cooking; Reggie was a self made and self named chef, he could really cook and his family enjoyed eating the things he prepared. 

He met the love of his life, Latrece Washington, and they shared a very affectionate love for one another.


Reggie lived a love filled and happy life, always being the life of the party and creating memorable moments. Those left to remember his affectionate smile are his father, Sammy Dale Alex, of Longview, Texas; mother, Aretha Johnson, of Dallas, Texas; fiancé, Latrece Washington, of Tyler, Texas; daughter, Nyisha Alex; bonus mom, Teresa (aka Mama); brothers, Calvin Willis, Dechedrick Johnson, Dexter Brooks, and Demetrius Alex; sisters, Jaqueline Johnson, Dyiasha Willis-Gray, and Sharika Alex; special aunt/mom and uncle, Alma and Kirk Womack; uncles, James Johnson, Travis Franklin, and Charlie Franklin; aunts, Robin Johnson and Juanita Calhoun; and many special friends, family, and co-workers.
