Ronald Martin
The Master Truck Driver
Ronald was born June 10, 1952 in Kerrville Texas and welcomed into the family of Cleveland and Flora Lee Martin. Ronald was baptized and saved at an early age and attended Mt Olive Baptist Church in Kerrville TX. Ronald’s parents Flora Lee and Cleveland Martin, his biological mother, Lucille Benson and four of his sisters: Martha Rose Nolan, Frankie Lee Hall, Allie Faye Benson, and Velma Benson Williams preceded him in death.
Ronald has always loved sports and played basketball, football and ran track. He attended Doyle High and Tivy High in Kerrville Texas. He graduated from Tivy High in 1972. He later moved to Houston where he was a truck driver for Merchant’s Freight Line for many years and transferred to Phoenix AZ in 1980 and continued working for Merchants. He continued working as a truck driver for various companies before joining the City of Phoenix and retired after sixteen years and moved to Longview TX. He enjoyed fishing and watching old westerns.
Ronald was blessed with two sons, Ronald Martin Jr (mother,Genethia) and James Martin (mother, Brendalyn). Ronald is survived by his sons, Ronald Martin Jr and James Martin (Latecia), grandchildren, La’Nysha, Jayvyn and Jaylyn, brother, Donald Martin, sister, Mary Lucille Anderson, and a host of friends and family.
