Rosemary Carr Obituary

Rosemary Barajas Carr was born on October 9, 1955, in Cleburne, TX, to Tirso Barajas and Mary Alice Gipson Barajas. She passed away surrounded by her family, on August 16, 2024, in Diana, TX, at the age of 68.

Rosemary was a long-time resident of Daingerfield where she raised her two daughters, Shauna Carr and Andrea Carr. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church since July 1989. It was in the summer of 1989 that Rosemary made the life changing decision to fully dedicate her life to Jesus Christ, accept baptism in His name, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. For all that knew her, she allowed God to make a completely transforming change in her life. From that time forward, she strived to live for God to the best of her ability. Rosemary was dedicated not only to God but to serving in the church and others. She was passionate about Sunday School and the bus ministry.  Rosemary reached out to many underprivileged children, bringing them to church and often visited with them and their families, helping however she could.

In 2004, Rosemary became a grandmother. Better known as Ma, to Maddox Carr, he became her priority. She loved and cared for Maddox without hesitation or regret. When her second grandchild, Alyvia Carr, was born, she naturally took on the role of primary caregiver to Alyvia. It was rare to see Ma or a grandchild without the other. Then, her final grandchild, Jaxon Carr, was born the year before her cancer diagnosis. Throughout all the challenges, in between treatments, recoveries, all the way up until her final days, Ma was concerned for her grandchildren. They were some of her greatest joys and she loved them deeply. She was truly the best grandmother to her grandchildren and whenever they were in her care, it was known without question that they were in good hands.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Alice Gipson Wellborn, step-father, Billy Wellborn, father, Tirso Barajas, step-mother, Winnie Barajas, and brother, Tirso Barajas, Jr. Rosemary is survived in death by her daughters, Shauna Carr and Andrea Carr; grandchildren, Alyvia Carr, Maddox Carr and Jaxon Carr; brother, Bobby (Gail) Barajas; step siblings, Keith (Wendy) Wellborn, Bobbie (Kevin) Haygood, Lisa (Pat) Epps; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
