Sheryl Smith, also known as “Juicy”, was born to Lonnie Edward Smith and the late Shirley Ann Thompson-Smith, on August 5, 1962, in Longview, Texas.
She is a 1980 graduate of Hallsville High School and was on the Hallsville Bobcat Drill Team.
At an early age, Sheryl accepted Jesus Christ, as her personal Savior and Lord, at the Golden Hill Baptist Church in Hallsville, Texas. Sheryl later united with St. Paul Baptist Church, in Longview, Texas, where she was a faithful member of the choir. She also was a long-standing member of the Longview Chapter Gospel Music Workshop of America, Texas Mass Choir, and YYA for over 30 years until her demise.
Sheryl was employed by Longview ISD, for over 10 years, as a Special Education teacher assistant and later employed with Diagnostic Clinic of Longview for 17 years as a phlebotomist.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Ann Thompson-Smith; brother, Todd Fields; grandparents, Willie and Pearlie Smith and Shirley L. and Halliot B. Thompson; grandson, Brian Miguel Reed Jr.; and nephew, Julius B. Brown.
Sheryl leaves to cherish her memories her father, Lonnie Edward Smith; daughter, Tamesha Taylor of Arlington, Texas; son, Kevin Taylor of Longview, Texas; granddaughter, Tameyha L.J. Reed; brothers, Kenneth Wayne (Nicole) Smith, Carl Edward (Rochelle) Smith all of Tyler, Texas, and Victor Von Smith of Longview, Texas; sisters-in-laws, Katherine Bradley Smith of Longview, Texas and Gwendolyn Fields of Dallas, Texas; nieces, Preea L. Smith, Victoria E. Borens, Briana N. Smith, Mary Robinson, and Alexis Brown; nephews, Kenneth W. Smith II, Da'Royce L. Smith, Todd Fields Jr., Kendrick Fields, Eric Fields, and Myron Simpson; daughter- in- love, Rocio Davis of Sugarland, Texas; son-in-love, Freddie McGinnis II of Frisco, Texas and Jay Hill of Longview, Texas; Godsister, Trinitta Hall-Palmer (Pastor Kenneth Palmer) of Longview, Texas; and host of great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.
