Tameka Lasha Lathan Brooks, was born October 15, 1982, in Longview, Texas to Charles D. McClain III and Shirley A. Lathan. She graduated from Longview High School in 2002.
She was baptized at an early age and later became a member of the Bethel C.M.E. Church, in Beckville, Texas, under the leadership of Rev. Donald Daniels Sr. Tameka was active in the choir, praise dance, and drill team. She later became a member of the Hughes Chapel C.M.E. church, under the leadership of Rev. James Hall, where she re-dedicated her life to Christ and served faithfully singing in the choir and doing all she could to serve God; until her health failed. Tameka later moved to Houston, Texas, during the times that she wasn't in the hospital, she worshiped at the Universal Church of Jesus Christ. Every chance she got to come home, she would always come to Hughes Chapel C.M.E. Church.
Tameka was proceeded in death by her grandmothers, Laydell Black and Augustine Williams; aunt, Rosalind Christian; and step brother, Kenneth Spikes Sr.
She leaves to hold and cherish her memories three sons, Isaiah George, Dakeisten George, and Joshua George; mother, Shirley (Rev. James Hall) Hall; father, Charles D. (Rebecca) McClain III; brother, Charles McClain III; sister, Quanisha Faggans; stepsister, Amanda Spikes; stepbrother, Brandon Henderson; granddaughter, Brashayla Washington; nieces, Naviah McClain, Tianah Harper, and Carmela Henderson; nephews, Kaiman Faggans and Mark Harper; God mother, Frenia Green; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
