On February 22, 1950 Willie Gene Lockett was born in the town of Henderson, Texas to LoEthel Ellison Lockett and Jimmie Lockett from where he gained the nick name "Bug".
Willie begun his education in Henderson school district and ended in Dallas, Texas where discovered his love to cook and work as a mechanic.
Willie worked most of his life as a self-employed, Mechanic, he could fix a vehicle with his eyes closed or tell you what the problem was with just a turn of the key.
Willie was loved by everyone in the community for the love he shared with many. He would do whatever it took to make you smile whether it was a listening ear, or even a "get right" talk, he was there.
The community loved him back with just as much respect that he had given and then his nickname went from "Bug" to "Bud" and he sure knew how to put on a show!
Willie was the most sturn but very kind hearted man you could ever meet and for all the good times and hard times we all have shared with him he will truly be missed. From your Southside family: We miss you and will always love you "Loc"!
